LPR SERIES INKS

TECHNICAL INFROMATION

LPR inks are specially formulated for rotogravure printing on to a range of polycoated boards.

SUBSTRATES:

The following substrates may be printed using LPR

  • Treated polycoated bleached board

  • Treated polycoated duplex board

  • Carton boards

  • Paper

  • NC Coated foil

  • Films like MB777

Although LPR inks can be used to print over suitable white ink on films but it should be advised to Coates Lorilleux before ordering. Minimum treatment should be 38 Dynes/cm.

PROPERTIES:

  • Good adhesion

  • Good gloss

  • Good scuff and abrasion resistance

  • Low foaming potential

  • Good heat resistance 120-170oC

  • High color strength

  • Low solvent retention

  • Accepts inline cutting and creasing

PRESS CONDITIONS:

LPR inks can be printed at most printing speeds upto 200-250m/min without any problem. However where fast speeds and over print varnish is recommended than efficient drying units and chill rollers are utilized.

REDUCER:

Ethanol = 50% Ethyl Acetate = 50% Reduce the inks with above solvent blend to printing viscosities.

Accelerator: Ethyl Acetate

Retarder: n-Propanol n-propanol can be used in high for most applications but the user should always be aware that too slow drying solvents can significantly increase the solvent retention on all substrates.

WASH UP:

Alcohol with ester blend.
